Confluence of Vltava and Berounka

The most significant potential, but also the biggest obstacle in the area is water. The existing development is often flooded by the Vltava and Berounka rivers, at the same time the area is suitable for recreation. Another challenge is the traffic roundel and the highway bridge that crosses the landscape. The main goal of our proposal was to reduce the threat of floods and make the best use of the recreational potential of the place. Therefore, we gave the water more space in the landscape and designed new and restored historical riverbeds. We design the riverbeds according to the flow of the river and shape the landscape so that the water has no obstacle during the overflow and the surface does not rise artificially.
