The design of the embankment along Smetanovo nábřeží creates an ideal connection between culture, entertainment and relaxation. The shape of the embankment is based on the arches that carry the bridges bordering the embankment. The aim is to use the most of the existing space. The gaps in the embankment wall are used as passageways, which are complemented by bars. Another element of the embankment is a residential staircase serving also as an auditorium. The entire embankment also functions as an outdoor gallery. Other elements of the embankment are booths that complement the missing functions of the embankment, such as a lookout, public toilets and the like. An integral part of the design are fords as a connection with the surrounding islands.
