Cafe Vosto5

The theater cafe is located in Letenské Sady in the building of the Vosto5 theater, which I designed as part of the ATSS course. The interior of the cafe is based on the concept of the opposite of lightness (the acrobats) and heaviness (the audience). The heaviness is represented in the interior by a massive illuminated concrete bar in a circular shape, which symbolizes the heaviness of the stage and the anchor point. In contrast, the rest of the interior, including the free-standing furniture, is designed with a certain lightness. The subtle legs of the chairs and tables and the predominance of high bar stools thus symbolize an acrobatic atmosphere. The overall circus atmosphere is also aided by massive curtains that visually and acoustically make the given space cozy.
