The Idea Store center on Otakarova becomes the midpoint and a community center of the new vibrant neighborhood of Nusle. It reacts to the increasing density of the suburbs of Prague and offers a new form of civic space. The house heals the wounds of the tectonically evolving urban structure and the mass of the house fills the empty plot between the busy streets and the quiet courtyard. The building is elevated above the sidewalk and the house creates a vertical structure that covers the busy elevated parterre. The house provides a wide range of multifunctional spaces working as classrooms, studios and a spacious roof terrace with a view to the city. The ground floor expand towards the garden full of greenery, which serves as a peacefull oasis while waiting for the subway or classes.
