SOUTH HOLEŠOVICE COMMUNITY WHARF

Annotation

A community wharf - a set of several buildings into which the former silo is loosely integrated - has been proposed for the triangular plot between Jateční Street and the embankment. The centrepiece of the ensemble is the art school building, which includes a modern factory, a variable space used for concentrated creation and performance. A building with dock facilities extends all the way to the river, and the two are connected in a semi-block by a townhouse building with a mixed-use ground floor and small apartments. The valuable area along the river is left almost in its original form, the character of an urban wilderness near the centre of Prague suits it. The park-like public space is situated on a little-used plot near the Libeň Bridge.
