Le Passage

Le Passage was designed in Libušská Street near metro station D. It was important to respond to the two-kilometer axis of Durychova Street, which leads directly into the center of the block. Since there are already enough high-rise buildings nearby, I decided to culminate this axis with a hole in the middle of the building, which serves as a barrier-free passage from the busy street to the quiet park. I see the hole as an interface between these two worlds. Behind this interface on the quiet eastern side is the residential area. It was designed in contrast to the administration, which was located on the busy west side and has this whole axis in front of it, so it was designed solidly to withstand it. It may seem a bit strict and at the same time serves as a simple picture frame.
