Living in Bhútan

This semester we were working on an assignment in a non-traditional location - Asian Bhutan. The goal was to create a family or apartment building that would reflect local culture and honor traditions. A big challenge was adapting to the climatic conditions, which are quite unfavorable. The study of the Bhutanese lifestyle was essential in designing the layouts of the individual apartments. An important aspect of the design was also working with local materials and focusing on the ecological side of the building.
