Between logistics

The unsustainability of logistic centres and their impact on the natural and urban landscape is a major issue affected cities have to deal with on a daily basis. A great concern is the resulting interspace between the metal warehouses. The collective decision to arrange logistics along transport infrastructure has cleared space for the expansion of the town. The main theme of the project is the search for an appropriate scale of housing neighbouring the logistic centres and the rest of the town. The new residental typology offers an answer to out-of-centre development. Each semi-detached house contains four small flats and two narrow houses. Wood was chosen as the main material, standing in contrast to the tin surroundings.
