In forest in 20 minutes!

Annotation

Dresdner Heide is a large forest near Dresden, Germany. It is surrounded by other smaller towns, with good public transport connectivity. The forest may provide many benefits both to residents and visitors being a wonderful natural area close to human infrastructure. In my work I focused on the entrances to the forest. Local centres around train and other public transport stations were identified and the paths from there to the entrances were emphasised to improve accessibility and increase comfort for all non-motorized users. The orientation in the area was strengthened using elements of public space and creating individual signs for the localities around Dresdner Heide. Natural elements in the local centres give a „taste“ of the near forest and a pleasant place to stay is created.
