The Library

The Library in the park near the cinema in Jablonec nad Nisou is a space where the adult and children's sections of the library are combined into one common unit. This creates one open space that allows both groups to spend their free time in a pleasant way. The library is adapted for holding workshops and courses for the public and there is also a lecture hall and gallery. The white colour of the façade contrasts strongly with the dark bricks of the neighbouring church. The cladding is made up of a continuous layer of white polycarbonate panels creating diffused light inside the library. Direct light is brought into the library atrium through a large skylight.
