Annotation

The importance of riverscapes is now undisputed and riverscapes are becoming a frequent topic not only in academic circles but also among the general public. But equally important is the river landscape of small watercourses, which is not so often discussed. The name VIABACH is a combination of the words Via (road) and Bach (German for stream), referring to the permeability of the landscape along watercourses, which was quite natural in history, as watercourses were a natural route of movement for fauna, flora and man. The permeability along the watercourse is one of the main themes of the Srbický potok project. The project also highlights the problems of improper management in this area. It offers a way to work with the local landscape to bring the landscape and people into balance.
