SVINOV GATE

A site between Svinov train station and the Svinov Bridges. One of the busiest places in Ostrava. The most frequently used train station in Moravia and Silesia. Site in the city, where are modern buildings common alongside the historic ones. Lots of external influences, urban axes and compositional details influencing the final design. Svinov gate was created by combining all these details. A multifunctional set of buildings, reflecting the local industrial architecture in a modern way. There aretwo sets of buildings, both divided by Svinov Bridges. The administrative part with a shopping mall, which uses high amount of passing people and makes the project profitable. On the quieter side of the bridges, there is an apartment building with a smaller administrative part.
