Community centre for cancer patients Petynka

The aim of my design was to create a community centre that is not only a place of treatment, but also a place of mutual support. The commissioned Petynka homestead could be preserved to any extent - I am preserving the western part of the complex. The design takes advantage of the elevation of Na Petynce Street and allows direct access to the roof. This terrace, connected to the atrium, is a key element that serves as a space for relaxation. The atrium also allows movement through the park to the Vincentinum pond. The concept is based on the desire to design an open space that also offers quiet corners. The new extension houses therapy rooms, rehabilitation, lectures, a swimming pool and hydrotherapy. Emphasis is placed on the use of natural light and views of the surrounding greenery.
