DOG SHELTER

Matěj Fiedor

Annotation

The land, defined by railway lines and roads, forms a green island on the border of several parts of Prague. The island is simultaneously crossed by two bridges. The place should be a center not only for dogs, their owners, and enthusiasts but ought to also appeal to the wider public. It should be a place to go for a walk, enjoy a coffee with a view, get your dog checked out or cut, have a picnic, or even find someone a new home. It is not just one building, but a complex. Each of them represents one if not more, functions – a salon, a veterinary office, a cafe, shelter facilities, kennels, a dog hotel, or animal crematorium. In several places, the complex divides or connects the archway, which naturally leads pedestrians through the complex through the courtyard to the dog mead.
