THE NEW CITY LIBRARY

The new city library is located near the city center in Jablonec. The library shape is oval shaped - with full glass facade - which allows for the great views of the Jablonec mountains and the nearby church. The facade is surrounded by movable sun shutters, that add to the design and also help to hide the direct sunlight. There are two underground floors - one of them is parking and two upper ground. The interior is design with organic wavy wooded design to add to the overall organic shape of the building. There are many different areas in the library to choose to read a book - one of them is the step seating that offers comfortable and plush seating. Two open roof lights also add to the overall even light distribution.
