THE THREE WORLDS CONECTION

The building is located at the intersection of three worlds: the Mariánské skály quarry in Ústí nad Labem, the sky, and the greenery of the adjacent zoo. Its shape resembles a dovetail joint, which in this case connects three distinct worlds with different atmospheres, creating a visual corridor across them. This corridor is bounded by two convex walls, directing the visitor's view only towards these worlds. Otherwise, nothing obstructs the view because all the columns and beams of the glass envelope are also made of glass. The building offers a café, gallery, and multiple platforms for diverse views of the quarry. The raumplan with an outer ramp guides the visitor up and down the structure, showcasing locations with varying levels of intimacy and functions.
