The Charles IV Square

Our project is a complex urbanistic and architectural solution of the Charles IVth square in Mělník, which is currently created by unsatisfactory buildings from the seventieth. This project contains a proposal of the new municipal library, municipal house and apartment blocks on this square. This project respects a huge value of a historical heart of the town. We believe it is inherently important to establish it with surrounding parts of the town. Therefore we decided to form apartment buildings into blocks with private greenyards in the atrium. Sections of apartment blocks are meant to resemble the smaller forms of buildings around, mainly in the old town. The landmark of this project is a new building of municipal library.
