LIFE IN THE SAHARA

The design is to transform the Sahara housing estate built in the 50s through 70s, which is located on sloping terrain. This is the driest area of Libčice nad Vltavou. The amount of paved surfaces drains majority of the rainwater away, which further increases the drought in the area. Despite the large number of paved areas, there is a problem with parking. Moreover, due to the fact that it is a quiet area, not much thought is given to pedestrian walkways. Locals here lack spaces for outdoor recreation and activities. The goal of the design is a broader solution to the individual shortcomings of the territory and thus creating a new life in the Sahara.
