JOURNEY THROUGH ORCHARDS

The design addresses surroundings of the catholic cemetery, deals with permeability and visual connections to landmarks in the landscape and in the town. It reopens old and creates new views in the landscape. It relates to the history of orchards around the city and it restores an old orchard next to the cemetery and creates a new one where the police building now stands, forming a barrier. The resulting orchards link the path from the town centre, which runs past the cemetery, to Kameníček Hill. This will complete the green belt of public green space leading from the town centre to the cemetery and offer a space for rest, contemplation or fruit picking.
