TO THE STARS

The main concept of my design is that everyone who leaves our world becomes a star in the night sky. So my goal was to connect the cemetery to the sky. To achieve this concept, I designed pyramid headstones that have space for a candle at the top, creating a visual connection between the sky and the cemetery. This grouping of "stars" in the cemetery can also be seen from the roof of the building that is used for funeral ceremonies. There are also toilets for visitors and facilities for the cemetery caretakers.The cemetery, long unused,has been given a new use by the placement of the urn graves under concrete pylons. Each headstone can hold up to eight urns, so immediate family and friends can continue to be together. A columbarium is available for those who prefer not to be placed under.
