Kateřina Kacetlová

Annotation

Hanspaulka, an iconic residential district in Prague's Dejvice, which is the cradle of functionalism in the Czech Republic. The assignment was to design a suitable building for the ambassador and his family in this locality. The design combines a representative and work function with a family environment. The building is designed as a compact mass that opens towards Prague. The building has two floors. The first above-ground floor has primarily a representative and work function. A place for recreation is offered by the winter garden oriented from the entrance across the entire building. The underground floor has a residential function. These parts are connected by a spiral staircase stretching around the circumference of a circular glass elevator.
