Bossage The Apartment Building

This assignment was about working with an empty plot in Náchod, a Czech town with a well preserved historic centre. This apartment building offers new flats and a shop on the ground floor. The project represents a careful combination of clean modern architecture while keeping the rich context of a historic town in mind. The main facade comes to life through a play with contrast: the verticality of its windows and the horizontality of its bossage create an intriguing sight. Each flat has its own balcony and a storage room on the ground floor. The lower ground floor offers space for parking and the utilities room. There is also a private yard with community gardening at the inhabitants' disposal.
