Dresden - the edible city

Bc. Markéta Osifová, Bc. Kateřina Volková

Annotation

Not far from the historical centre of Dresden, there is the Ostra Peninsula. What direction could the development of the area take, perhaps in 50 years? The concept is to create space for urban farming. The proposal defines individual fields bounded by a network of roads. The idea is that people can rent a field (or part of it) and farm on urban land. There are enough public spaces to allow good accessibility to the site, and it is important that people in the city have the opportunity to get close to the farming process. The aim is to shorten the journey of food to our plates, sustainable food production, but also to raise awareness. Because urban farming can be one of the ways to move towards a future that is a little more self-sufficient, sustainable and friendly.
