CASCADE

Our site is located in the picturesque town Hořice near the historical center. The main landmark of the neighborhood is the Hořice brewery. The Cascade offers apartments for smaller or larger families, outdoor social spaces and creates a separate commercial zone for the development of urban culture. The concept is based on the site's problems, working with the larger sloping site and the different character of surrounding buildings. That's why, we combine the austerity of block of flats with the idea of intimate internal space, and we escalate the main mass according to the changes in the height levels of the surrounding buildings and terrain. On the ground floor we create a semi-private space, the atrium, which works as the socializing core of the whole project. With the Cascade, we are
