DRAPÉ

Drapé (from the French drap = cloth) comes from the resemblance of a sculpture covered with cloth and waiting to be revealed, just as our apartment building is covered with metal waiting to be inhabited. The building is located in front of the monumental Hořice Brewery, which was a great inspiration for us. The apartment building is composed of two dominant masses. The steel drapery carrying the balconies, underneath it, hides the second mass, which, despite its simple shape, represents the main functional core. These two contrasting elements work together, complementing and enhancing the original idea of the fabric draped over the sculpture.
