GATES TO THE REPUBLIC

Since the entry of the Czech Republic into the Schengen area, border crossings and customs buildings have lost their original meaning and purpose. The border forms the connection between two states, two cultures. This unification of the two curves is crossed by the dynamic line of the highway, thus creating one significant intersection, one place, one moment. I see this specific space as a very symbolic and important connection of two stories. That is why I place material installations here, which give these places the appropriate monumentality and highlight their uniqueness. Four gates were thus created, which symbolize the entrance to our state and highlight the uniqueness of that moment of highway intersection. GATES TO THE REPUBLIC were created.
