Project of conversion of the Billa department store near the historic center of Kolín offers residents a straightened axis of movement between the housing estate and the city center. This is created by dividing the original skeleton into two units with a commercial ground floor located in the newly created pedestrian zone. The house is repairing the scar of a cut into the terrain and the impassability of the path between the center and the nearby school. The terrain levels out and rises smoothly along the south side of the house. The skeleton remains preserved in 70% and the new house reuses it in a different way. It offers residents a shared backyard to the west. This space is an elevation of the existing terrain, which today rises along the house and thus closes the facade.
