Apartment house Žižkov

Natálie Křivancová

Annotation

The residential building is designed on a north-facing plot, which faces from the inner block to the busy Hartig Street in Prague's Žižkov district. The plot is one of the many plots created during the redevelopment of the original 19th century housing development. The newly designed house offers apartments for couples and families with children, while trying not to waste space and creating plenty of storage space. The mass of the house grades towards the courtyard, which is responded to by the staircase that is located on the street facade, the staircase element creates a vertical landmark on the street facade. The location of the building on the main street, the radial, implies an active ground floor, in which a small shop has been designed and a café and bar in the basement.
