Dirt mound

The residential complex Dirt mound is situated on sloping plot above the village of Prameny in the Ore Mountains within the territory of the CHKO Slavkovský Les. Prameny is a small village with about a hundred inhabitants at an elevation of around 700 meters above sea level. Therefore, we are essentially in the mountains. My primary goal was to create a contextual and sensitive project closely connected to the local beautiful nature. The complex consists of 10 houses with gables and large windows facing west. The gabled roof is at places interrupted by dormers with views into the valley towards the village of Prameny. The primary material is rammed earth, complemented by details of wood painted green and held by terraces of cobblestone walls.
