Their density is increasing rapidly and thus contributing to their expansion into the surrounding countryside. However, the expansion of urban settlements into their surroundings will not be possible indefinitely and therefore the definition of their boundaries will become increasingly important. This definition of the urban boundary will not stop the densification of the city, and cities will therefore be forced to find ways of using and densifying their already developing structure. The G57+ project developed in the Petřiny housing estate represents one of the many possibilities for densification of cities and especially their housing estates.
