Annotation

Rokycany is a town threatened by the rapid growth of the adjacent Pilsen. The aim is to restore Rokycany's character as a self-sufficient town through the revitalisation of the ring road around the historic core. The design perceives its qualities and addresses its deficiencies at several levels, from analysis to detailed designs of individual spaces. The biggest problem is the marginalisation of people as the main users of the city and the optimisation of spaces for individual car traffic. The most obvious negative impact is the undignified design of the entrances to the historic city. The proposal addresses these in detail, examining their current solutions and, where appropriate, proposing better options that return the city back to the people.
