PATCHWORK

PATCHWORK is about an alternative housing option around and under the Liben bridge in Prague. The housing follows a "big house, small community" concept where the space is divided into easily assembled pods that can hold functions like housing, shared facilities and storage. Its most important features are green walls, rainwater collection, recycled materials, and energy harvesting. The project has sustainable concepts and motivations: green connections with the surrounding landscape and build environment, urban and social sustainability, creating a small and self-sufficient community, organizing the landscape in a harmonious manner, adequate vegetation for the specific location, many opportunities for various activities to make the space more alive, safer and greener.
