Municipal Court in Prague

The Municipal District Court in Prague is located in Prague 1. It is situated on a newly established square next to a cultural hall on one side and a polyclinic on the other. The courthouse evokes a sense of gravity, presenting itself as serious and dignified. Its height makes it the dominant feature of the newly developed block. The top floor steps back on the sides, respecting the lower surrounding buildings. The facade is composed of ribs that extend above the roof cornice. Both the ribs and the rest of the facade are made of exposed concrete, which also contributes to the seriousness of the building. The building's operations are shared by both employees and the public. The public enters the building from the newly created square, which is anchored by the State Opera at its head.
