FLYBOX | Film school with student housing

The task was to design the missing city block in Vinohrady above the drinking water reservoir, above which there can be no vertical supports. My aim was to place the entrances to the building from the most frequented sides - from the Flora metro station and from the Orionka station. This created a diagonal shape connecting the streams of people on both sides. In this part of the building there is student housing. Above is the film school, the shape of which follows the street line. A truss structure is used at the bottom, which arches over 100 meters, and at the top - over 50 meters, supported by columns that serve as escape staircases. The two parts are also connected by three cores, in which vertical roads are located.
