KLABAVA: spring-confluence

Marketa Kučerová

Annotation

The Klabava has often struggled with flooding in the past, but unfortunately, this problem continues. Some villages are not dealing with this issue, while others are working out how to reduce the impact or prevent flooding. The town of Rokycany has drastically affected its character and cut off all natural and social life from it. Today, the river moves in a straightened stone channel that creates a significant scar in the town. The river is 51.20 km long, transforming the landscape along the way, whether by human influence or terrain configurations, offering interesting places to visit. The project has created a so-called "kilometre guide" which together with the newly designed cycle path guides us along the Klabava and points out those places that are interesting but also problematic.
