MAIN TRAIN STATION IN PRAGUE - I WON'T DEMOLISH, I'LL BUILD ON IT ...!

Jan Hybl

Annotation

The fundamental element of the design is the transformation of the North-South Highway into a boulevard. This boulevard stretches from the National Museum to the intersection at Bulhar, covering a total length of 0.9 km. This change involves the construction on part of Vrchlický Park and the enhancement of the street in front of the Fantova building of the train station, with the main feature being a shopping gallery that spans above the New Departure Hall from 1977. The design partially revises the modifications made to the hall after the adjustments from 2011 and in certain aspects returns to its original state.
