Restoration of the castle garden

Šimon Pavlásek

Annotation

The "Restoration of the castle garden" project is located in Lemberk Castle in northern Bohemia. The proposal involves the construction of a dance hall on the site of the former sheepfold. The ground floor serves as a representative hall. The façade is made of glass. It is not disrupted by any load-bearing elements, as the load-bearing function is ensured by three concrete pillars inside the building. The construction connects the Bredovská Garden with the surrounding rural life and integrates the old with the new, as the historic garden wall passes through the hall. The garden is divided into three levels. The upper part of the garden responds to the linear strictness of baroque garden, while the lowest part of the garden forms a transition between the baroque garden and the wild nature.
