Library of Memory Břevnov

In the outskirts of the Břevnov Monastery, between Bělohorská and Patočkova Streets, I propose a library that tries to make full use of the potential of the triangular plot. The building is a memento of the recent communist era. The location of this building is symbolic, given that the Břevnov Monastery housed the archive of the State Security Service after the expulsion of the monks. On the ground floor of the three-storey building there is an entrance hall, a screening room and an exhibition hall with a permanent exhibition that charts the tragic fate of families and individuals who disagreed with the regime of the time. The 2nd and 3rd floors house the library, which focuses mainly on samizdat and thematic historical literature. On the 2nd floor there is also a cosy café with access fro
