Antenna belt FBME for liver monitoring

Annotation

The design of the antenna belt for liver monitoring (RFA) was developed as a part of interdisciplinary collaboration with the Bio-Electromagnetism (BioEM group) research team at FBME. The department-developed UWB radar system is used to guide the operator during the insertion of a metal ablation probe into the tumor-affected area. During surgery, the system would replace commonly used monitoring systems such as X-ray, CT, or ultrasound. The aim of the collaboration is to create a functional product based on the technology developed by FBMI, which currently operates on a static model. During the semester, I developed the first concepts for securing the antennas and the belt to the patient's body – the work is currently in progress.
