Charle´s embankment II

Karlovy Vary. Everyone knows it as a spa town full of healing springs, luxury, film festivals... but that's only half of Vary. The other "across the river" is a bit cut off from the centre of the action by the Ohře river and the main road through Vary (the D6 connection). At least a little bit to connect these two worlds and at the same time to prepare Vary for the future is the purpose of the new district called Karlovarská náplavka. It will offer new affordable housing for residents, a new dimension and experience for tourists, and mentally and physically connect the spa south with the forgotten north. On top of that, it will also reclaim the banks of the Ohře River, returning them to their natural character and creating a new floodplain park.
