IN THE LOFT

The children’s hospice is designed on the site of the existing Chládek Garden on a hillside overlooking Prague. The new building naturally blends with the surrounding landscape through green atriums and by placing the residential area closer to the slope’s edge, allowing children to stay as connected to nature as possible. The rear part of the building is subtly elevated on slender columns, evoking the feeling of treehouses and bringing lightness and playfulness to the space. The mansard roof enhances the sense of safety and homely coziness, creating a calm and harmonious environment where children can feel protected while remaining closely connected to nature. The entire facility is designed with a focus on barrier-free movement and maximum comfort for both patients and staff.
