Housing Olšanská

Annotation

The plot on Olšanská Street lies between old and modern Žižkov. I was inspired by old Žižkov, full of blocks of tenement houses with open corridors. Plaster and facades adorned with tile details felt both familiar and suitable for this plot. I propose four large tenement-style buildings here. I worked subtly with building heights to match the scale of St. Roch to the west, while raising the building near the police station. The buildings near the cemetery wall are lower, responding to the quiet park beyond the wall. Between the cemetery and the buildings, there will be gardens—small, communal, and cozy. The rooftop landscape will include a community center with clubrooms and views of the city.
