Exhibition of Studio Projects
Apartment building no. 28
Annotation
I imagine an ordinary house with a gable roof, a pistachio-colored facade, a terracotta base, and wooden windows. The house has two faces: one dignified and solid, facing the busy street, and the other romantic and refined, looking toward the courtyard. In my thoughts, I play with rounded corners, concave cuts, and the possibility of glimpsing through an opening.
A second mass completes the inner block. It is a small house with small windows and a pitched roof. Small balconies with low railings extend from the facade, breaking the monotonous rhythm of stamped-out rows of houses. In one of these homes, someone like Bohumil Hrabal might have lived.
I imagine an ordinary house for an ordinary person, an artist, a blacksmith, a car mechanic or a teacher.
