Closely Watched Pub

Annotation

In the very heart of Libeň, there is an ordinary house, and within it, an ordinary pub. The interior spaces of this Libeň tavern are designed in harmony with both the present and the past. The idea of the Libeň pub was inspired by a black-and-white photograph depicting the courtyard of house no. 27. I envisioned a single open space with views extending in both directions, allowing the innkeeper to keep an eye on who’s running low on beer and who’s already signaling for another round. The main area of the pub is located right at the entrance. The bar is part of a glazed storefront, which also serves as a takeaway window for passersby. The concept of the space lies in its flexibility. The seating module consists of a small table and two chairs.
