Library

The building is composed of wooden cubes forming a structure of walls, ceilings, and stairs, and also serving to store books. The cube-elements, with edges of 300 mm, are hollow or closed on one or both sides. The library is accessible from a passage connecting the street and the courtyard in a north-south axis. The hall is followed by individual spaces for studing or reading, arranged in a stepped spiral all the way to the roof terrace. The apartment, with it‘s entrance on the north facade, consists of a living kitchen and two bedrooms. The façade, sheathed by glass unifying the surface of the building, lets the light into the interior whereas revealing the layout and the content of the library.
