Bee Oasis on the Ara Palace

Bc. Martin Šnobr

Annotation

New structure with a green roof was built at the highest point of the functionalist Ara Palace in the center of Prague. It consists of an oasis with two specially designed beehives. It offers a seating area, a lawn and colorful pasture for bees. The architecture of the palace is followed by a structure symbolizing this new floor, which is dedicated to nature, which is emphasized by the tree in the middle. Like the Ara Palace, the beehives have an elegant, graceful and simple envelope, which protects the bees from the climate conditions of the city and ensures comfortable handling for the beekeeper. Both of them look down on the street from the position between the "battlements" at the most important corners of the tower.
