House for Banksy

Bc. Eliška Jindřichová

Annotation

The proposed concept, like the graffiti artist performing under the name Banksy, is based on the protection of privacy. This is achieved by a combination of transparent and foggy glass, which enables undisturbed life, right in the center of Prague. Semi-permeable glass partially blocks the view and creates a so-called distance gallery from the north, as the house can only be seen from the neighboring Střelecký Island. If the visitors of the island look closely, they can watch the artist in the middle of creating a new masterpiece. An integral part of the building is the original stone wall. It serves as the main access bridge and separates the living area and the maisonette studio. The stone material of the wall is locally reflected in the interior and gives the design a finished look.
