House of botany

A family house for botanists rises on a sloping terrain in Prague's Petřiny. The building does not only offers a pleasant environment for living, the owner also has a professional background in the form of a greenhouse, which seems to grow from the ground. The steel structure is installed on the walls copying the slope of the terrain and on the attic of the house, which also creates space on the roof. After the footbridge, the observer enters the bedroom floor, the cabinets between the bedrooms act as an acoustic insulator. On the lower floor there is the main living area, at the back with a workroom, at the front with a terrace and access to the garden. The spiral staircase acts as a communication across the house. The building is designed in the spirit of the structural plan.
