LA DOLCE VITA MONUMENT

The project reacts to the film directed by Italian director Federico Fellini. Rome, the sixties, a decadent society – the atmosphere of the film, which is accompanied by a journalist Marcello. Compared with the usual film, La Dolce Vita does not follow traditional standards. It lacks a unified film line; it is a succession of the film moments that Marcello experiences. From a formal point, the film is divided into seven consecutive episodes. This principle is applied in the above-ground part of the monument, which uses a traditional film line, which is disrupted by seven parts representing the episodes. Thus, the design implements a non-linear film into linear form. For each episode, there is an underground space interpreting its content.
