HOUSE FOR MY LIBRARY

The building is situated in the Kinského Garden. I chose this place because I am often in the city center and I want to be able to run away from the modern busy world. The place is relatively crowded therefore I try to incorporate the surrounding landscape into the interior without disrupting the privacy of the object. I achieved this by having the atrium surrounded by side walls without windows, thus allowing me an undisturbed passage from the library to the main reading room. The concept includes panoramic views of Prague or of a tree, due to that it makes the interior more spacious. A window in the main reading room provides an enjoyable view of the hundred-spired city only while sitting, whereas while standing we can see the Kinského Garden. The library is a perfect place to relax.
